Inspiration

                    I liked Thamana jacket/coat .Thamana wore in the Telghu movie100% love.

        So, I planned to  make  one for me and my sister. Luckily I had related color of the satin fabric in my hand .The fabric I used is 1 meter. 

Variation between these two jacket:

1.Mine is  full size coat.Because my sister wants full size.

2.I couldn't get that much puff in my sleeve compared to Thamana jacket.

Summer dress No1(Cowl Neck)

          Bought some cotton fabrics for this summer.I decided to sew cowl neck for one of my chudidhar.I tried cowl neck before but i didn't get perfect drape that too I posted here http://sunithartwork.blogspot.in/2011/10/cowl-pant-and-cowl-neck.html.
          Atlast I got perfect drape this time without any pattern.Here is the snap for the cowl neck.

Chudidhar #4 and 5

              K's friend chudidhar,for her birthday.
             K's friend likes karishma cotton or printed cotton.My sister almost have this type of cotton.She asked to my sister where do you get this kind of material. So my sister planned to gift karishma cotton chudidhar for her birthday.This is the chudi my sister gifted to her.
             Features of this chudi,design on the bottom of the sleeve, front neckline and bottom of the kurtha.I stitched 1/4"elaastic on the center of the sleeve for gathering. For pant,it is gathering.

         K's friend also bought Karishma cotton for her one of the  birthday dress.Features of this chudi,pant fabric on the top of the kurtha to waist,motif design on the bottom of the sleeve, waist and top of the kurtha. For pant it is gathering.

                                                  

Designer Blouse#5 and 6

          Two designer blouse made for K's friend.

          First blouse feature, Princess seam bouse, back hook, zari border on bottom of the  sleeve and on the back neck to the end of the blouse.

                 Second blouse features, same princess seam blouse and back hook  for this too, Zari border on the bottom of the sleeve, back neck line  and box like design using zari on the back hook side.My sister did not like this box  design. How it looks what is ur opinion?

How to make Pillow or cushion

      I made cushion for H's car.

For Stuffing cotton:

1.Refer Image 1 and 2.
2.Take  two cotton fabric of 12" width  and 12" height, or 24" width and 12" height fabric.1" for seam allowance.
3.Place the right side of the two fabric facing each other. In the wrong side, Stitch the three  side ,for the fourth side stitch only half side.Turn the fabric into right side.
4.Stuff the cotton and hand sitch the filling side ,refer image 2.


For cushion cover:
1.Take  any kind of  fabric of 28" height and 14" width.
2.Fold both the end of the fabric and stitch(fold is 1").
3.Overlap the folded ended in the middle (wrong side) and stitch both the side refer image 3.
4.Turn the fabric right side.Now cover is ready.

Designer Blouse#4

        Designer blouse for me. I love this colour and i have a doubt before wearing this saree.is it makes me darker comlexion?No,it is not much.
        Feature of this blouse, 3/4 transparent sleeve,zari border on the back  neck line , bottom of the sleeve and on the top sleeve back side (arm hole side).

Full circle Anarkali

              Anarkali salwar for H during her birthday, it is on new year.But I posted this post on febrauary. Now only its time for me to upload it from my mobile:).For this I am using georget material for tops, tissue material for bodice, neted accoba material for Shawl.

Fearure of this anarkali salwar:
1.For Bodice, I used pant fabric as lining,then georget fabric and tissue material.I did front and back dart.
2.For anarkali, used pant fabric as lining for georget material, I did full circle pattern and half circle pattern for lining. I also used yellow sattin ribbon for border.
3.For sleeve ,curved sleeve .(the picture will not show you how it look .I will update the sleeve snap soon)
4.For pant,normal pant,with gathering ,if it is cross grain line there is no necessary for elastic.It is straight grainline. so, to make gathering I used 1/4" elastic

Chudidhar #3

           Chudi made for my customer.she gave me a photoshot of this model dress.I sew upon the design that she gave me.
Features:
     Puff sleeve gathered at the top and bottom of the sleeve and piping on the bottom of the sleeve using pant fabric.To make this puff cut the sleeve and sew the middle portion of the bottom and top of the sleeve about 6" and then pull the thread ,so that it gathered ,make a stitch on the gathered portion.

           I used  the same fabric for lining too.Because i dont want to waste the remaing fabric of the chudidhar and also gives rich look when compared to lining cloth.This snap show you how it look.

         On the Front neck, yoke design using pant fabric on the center of the neck, placed button hole using  fabric tube of the pant fabric.

Pongal Kolam

          We draw mavu kolam during pongal celebration.Me and K together drew this kolam the day before pongal.we also drew color kolam .

      This kolam is for pooja,sunflower design is  for placing lights(kuthu vilakku) which is of 5 face.We  serve pongal,and side dish on plantain leaf,sugarcane,fruit,flower and so on ..on the top of the kolam.on the left side kolam,we place pongal pot,after we cook pongal.

Kurtha #7

               This kurtha made for K which is from leftover fabric of  H's salwar.Mango like  design which came on the bottom of the fabric.K wanted this design on the leftside of this kurtha to make a different thing ,so I decided to cut this design and sew on the lefside and also I cut the small portion of the design and attached to the bottom of the sleeve.

         Salwar made for my cousin,Features of this outfit ,Puff sleeve,I used only 6 pleat, the pleat is about 3/4",and  contrast color border on the sleeve ,Normal chudidhar pattern and using pant fabric designed it as wrap dress,visually it looks like a wrap dress ,pattern was not.For pant ,it is cowl pant.

            Chudi made for my customer,The print on the fabric that she gave me looks like anarkali pattern.Features of this outfit,designed using fabric tube on the front neck ,frill on the bottom line of the chudidhar.For pant ,it is gathering pant.

Salwar#2

         This is my first post for this year.I didn't learn sewing properly.I went sewing class only for 1 and half months.But i learnt it lil by lil by  my own interest.  I do sewing for  the past 8 years.My mother was also a sewer,She was not with us :(.But i and my mom didn't sew for any other person except my sisters .
        Now I started sewing for others too,but only for small circle.My aim is to become a fashion designer.Now,my soul is partially fulfilled.This is because of my K's encouragement.
         This salwar made for my customer K's friend.She loved this outfit.Features of this salwar,petal sleeve(almost every customer asking petal sleeve),front neck design using pant fabric,on the side slit i made frill using pant fabric.For pant ,it is semi patiyala.
